The 2023 Château de Bonnezeaux "La Minée" is biodynamically farmed dry Chenin Blanc from schist soils in Anjou — richly textured, intensely mineral and truly profound.
Château de Bonnezeaux didn't produce a single bottle of wine for over 30 years — until 2012, when winemaker Guyonne Saclier de la Bâtie began bringing the abandoned vineyards back to life, farming biodynamically from day one under the mentorship of the legendary Mark Angeli of Ferme de Sansonnière.
Pierre Boisseaux and Léa Meslet took over in 2019 and have only pushed the wines further — single-parcel, minimal intervention, no shortcuts — at an estate that was once one of the Loire's most celebrated addresses for sweet Bonnezeaux and is now making some of the most compelling dry Chenin in the region. First release was the 2016 vintage; there are now fewer than a handful of cuvées, each from a named parcel, each made in tiny quantities.
