Michael Drapkin has been in the wine industry for more than 20 years, with experience in Washington, DC (Whole Foods Market and McArthur Beverages), New York City (Vestry Wines, now Verve, and Balthazar) and the Hudson Valley, NY (as the founder of one of New York’s most recognizable indie wine shops, Kingston Wine Co.).

Together with his business partner and wife Theresa Drapkin, a professional designer and artist, the couple opened West Palm Wine Co. focusing on singular soulful small grower wines with a strong emphasis placed on natural wine.

The wine shop is located in the retail shops of Casa Mara—in the Antique Row district of West Palm Beach—nestled in the middle of the historic El Cid and Prospect Park neighborhoods.

The owner's selections, previously described by Food and Wine as “geeky but affordable wines” include a collection of wines from the Old and New World, with an emphasis on good farming and cellar practices.

Damon Matz brings passion, knowledge and a decade of wine retail experience to the shop. A former master Welder/Fabricator, Damon followed his passion for all things fermented. He is well traveled, having tasted wines across Europe and America in hundreds of wineries. Damon is currently studying for a WSET 3 certification, he is an introductory Sommelier through the Court of Sommeliers, a Certified Beer Server with Cicerone and a Total Spirits and Wine Professional certified.
