At Sandri, where nothing is done by machine and yields are already among the lowest in the appellation, 2022 was precisely the kind of vintage that rewards obsessive farming — the fruit that survived was pristine. Three to four weeks of maceration, large Slavonian oak botti, unfined, unfiltered. Mario and Teresina's grandchildren, still tending the same vines by hand. Give it five years and it will be extraordinary.
