Domaine Andre et Mireille Tissot DD Rouge

The "DD" is Stéphane Tissot's tribute to his father André — a throwback to the pre-Stéphane era when Jura reds were blended affairs rather than single-varietal wines — one-third each Poulsard, Trousseau, and Pinot Noir from biodynamic vineyards at 250–450 meters on Triassic clay and limestone, extremely long and gentle maceration, spontaneous fermentation, three months in 100-year-old barrels, nothing added and nothing removed.

Stéphane Tissot is the most important vigneron in the Jura — the person who proved to the world that this small, strange, limestone plateau between Burgundy and Switzerland could produce wines of genuine ambition and soul. This one is his most personal bottle. Serve it slightly cool and don't overthink it.
