2019 Jaques Carillon Puligny Montrachet

Pear, orange zest, white peach, ginger, and a mineral finish that builds. 2019 was warm and dry — Jacques lost a third of his volume — and the wine has generous mid-palate weight while still carrying that Carillon mineral thread through the finish. 100% Chardonnay from eleven parcels across seven village lieux-dits, average vine age 40+. 15% new oak, six-year barrel rotation. Farmed with near-organic practices, no herbicides. Estimated 800-1,000 cases produced. The Carillon family has been in Puligny-Montrachet since 1520. Jacques works 5.25 hectares across eleven small parcels. Six years old and drinking beautifully with years still ahead.
