Violet, plum, blackcurrant, tobacco, cedar, and star anise with smooth tannins and fresh acidity — elegant, fragrant, layered. 55% Cinsault, 35% Tempranillo, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from a single vineyard at 1,000 meters elevation on gravelly limestone. Unoaked. Certified organic. Yes — Tempranillo in Lebanon. The Hochars planted it specifically because the Bekaa Valley's extreme elevation and limestone reminded them of Ribera del Duero, and the grape produced exceptionally silky, deep wine at punishingly low yields of just 12 hectoliters per hectare. "Levantine" means "of the Eastern Mediterranean" — the ancient Levant spanning modern Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Palestine, and Jordan. Small production, estimated 500-800 cases. Same family, same estate founded in 1930, same winery that never missed a vintage through fifteen years of civil war. Where the Jeune is the everyday pour, this is the conversation starter.
