Dark cherry, plum jam, cinnamon, and a brambly, spicy finish — light-bodied, dry, and built to be chilled. 100% Plavina, one of Croatia's 130 indigenous varieties. DNA analysis confirmed Plavina is a direct genetic cross between Tribidrag — the ancient Dalmatian grape proven in 2001 to be genetically identical to Zinfandel — and Verdeca from Puglia. So you're drinking Zinfandel's Croatian love child, except lighter, brighter, and infinitely more crushable. Organically farmed, dry-farmed, and hand-harvested from terraced slopes inland from the coastal town of Šibenik, on red clay over limestone. Spontaneous fermentation, minimal sulfur. Estimated 1,000-1,500 cases produced. "Pomalo" is Dalmatian slang for "take it easy, no worries" — made by the Begović cousins, two winemakers from opposite ends of Croatia who discovered they were long-lost family through the village of Kozice.
