Roughly 2,900 cases for the US market. Dense and structured — dark fruit, mint, lavender, Mediterranean herbs, and a balsamic freshness on the finish that comes straight from the Sangiovese in the blend. The 2024 Grattamacco Bolgheri Rosso is certified organic — 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 10% Sangiovese, 5% Petit Verdot — fermented in stainless steel, six months in neutral barrique, ripe tannins, even acidity, built to drink now and over the next several years. Grattamacco was the second winery founded in Bolgheri in 1977, the first to vinify a Bolgheri Rosso, and one of the few estates to still insist on Sangiovese in the blend — a thread of Tuscan identity running through what could easily have become just another Bordeaux imitation. The entry point to one of the region's founding addresses, and the most accessible bottle from a house whose flagship stands alongside Ornellaia and Sassicaia.
