Taut, mineral, and precise — citrus and white flowers on the nose, tension and delicate flesh on the palate, a slight grip from brief skin contact, and a long saline finish with a whisper of youthful bitterness that will resolve beautifully. The 2024 Camille Thiriet "Aligoté du Jardin" is sourced from three old-vine parcels — a centenary parcel in Meursault, 60-year-old vines in Corgoloin, and 70-year-old vines in Comblanchien — blended into one wine of rare complexity for the grape. Organically farmed, small wooden basket press, spontaneous fermentation, gravity pump-overs, 10 months in barrel then racked to stainless before bottling, minimal sulfur. Camille Thiriet was born in Paris with no family wine connections — she arrived in Burgundy through perfumery studies, a master's in wine trade, and eventually a mentorship with Bernard Noblet, former chef de cave at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. The best Aligoté made by someone who had no business making it this well.
