The 2023 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay "Clos des Chênes" comes from the domaine's flagship holding — 0.9 hectares at the northeast corner, where Taillepieds, Champans, and Caillerets all converge in a single wine.

Certified organic and Demeter-certified biodynamic, native yeast, very low new oak, unfined, unfiltered. The first wines from this domaine were bottled in 1934 — Clos des Chênes among them — and ninety years later it remains the wine that defines what Volnay can be.
