Arnaud Combier spent two decades making natural wine across Beaujolais and Burgundy before most people were paying attention — he studied viticulture, put in time at Domaine Valette in the Mâconnais and Colbois in Chablis, then went back to his grandfather's vines in 1998. Today the estate is a three-way collaboration between Combier, François de Nicolay of Chandon de Briailles, and the iconoclast Jeff Carrel. The Bourgogne Red is Pinot Noir with that unmistakable natural-wine lift: bright red fruit, a little wildness around the edges, and the kind of drinkability that empties the bottle before you notice. Red Burgundy at a price that makes no sense.
