2021 Martin Woods Koosah Vineyard Chardonnay

Evan Martin, coined “Martin of the Woods,” is a geeky sommelier turned Oregon winemaker. “I’m making wines for the people in the trade, the winemakers, the people who love, appreciate and really get wine.”

Dry farmed, organic Chardonnay aged 14 months in 7-year-old oak barrels. This could be mistaken for Burgundy, think ‘Puligny’…a very serious wine.

This comes from plots over 1000 ft above sea level. The cool ocean influence through the Van Duzer corridor gives this wine elegance, acidity and minerality. A majestic pairing with simple pan fried scallops, an ideal match while the wine unfurls all its complexity.
