2018 Chateau Belregard-Figeac Saint Emillion Grand Cru

Christophe Pueyo is bucking the trends of Bordeaux for a style more in line with his great grandparents. As the family’s 5th generation he has since converted the estate to organic viticulture and replaced many of the barriques with demi-muids and foudres (and the occasional amphora). This results in a wine with much less of an oak forward presence and better balance for youthful drinking. 

The wine is filled with spicy aromatics with waves of tobacco and coffee, a great pairing for ribeyes with a good char.
