After a stint skiing in Utah, and then working with top producers around the world — including at Binner in Alsace for several years — Evan Lewandowski had the idea to plant vineyards and produce 100% grown and made in Utah wines. Eventually he moved his operation to Cali. The L shaped wine labels are a tribute to the state where his winemaking adventure was born.
His winery name, Ruth Lewendowshi, comes from the book of Ruth, which encompasses the redemption of death so other things can begin. To Evan, that’s farming—“the regeneration of soils, our hearts, our relationships with one another.”
A true natural winemaker, Lewandowski believes good wines starts with conscientious work in the vineyard. At the winery, nothing is added, and all wines of his wines are bottled unfiltered. The portfolio of wines he makes is guided by Lewandowski’s sense of exploration and commitment to sustainability.
