Fishwife was founded by Becca Millstein and Caroline Goldfarb in 2020 and sources from healthy fisheries and certified sustainable aquaculture farms, bringing the vibrance of conservas culture to the North American table.
The term "Fishwife" dates back to the 16th century, and originally referred to the daughters or wives of fishermen who sold fish at the market. The term gradually evolved into gendered insult for women who were brash, foul-mouthed, and brassy.
Salmon and trout have a four-year shelf life. Tuna, mackerel and sardines have a six year shelf life, and the anchovies have a one-year shelf life and can be refrigerated to maximize quality.
