The 2024 Summertime "Le Temps est Bon" is a pétillant naturel from Saumur, Loire Valley, made from organically farmed Chenin Blanc and Grolleau Gris with no sulfites added. Golden and luminous in the glass, it opens with aromas of ripe pear, raw almond, and a fresh hint of citrus, carried by fine, lively bubbles and a crisp, dry finish. The wine is a collaboration between seventh-generation vigneron Sébastien Bobinet, his partner and winemaker Émeline Calvez, and their longtime friend Bruno Richard — three kindred spirits who launched the Summertime sparkling project in 2021 with a simple rule: organic fruit, zero additions, nothing but joy in the bottle. The name comes from a beloved 1970s French chanson: "Le temps est bon, le ciel est bleu, nous n'avons rien à faire, rien que d'être heureux" — the weather is fine, the sky is blue, we have nothing to do but be happy. Serve well chilled alongside fresh oysters, goat cheese, charcuterie, or a fruit tart — or skip the food entirely and drink it on a warm afternoon with people you love.
