The property has been in the hands of Louis Barruol’s family since 1490. Built on a gallo-Roman site close to Gigondas. This Côtes du Rhône is unique as it is 100% Syrah rather than the typical blend. Fermented and aged in concrete for 6 months. We are particularly impressed with the balance of these wines, powerful black fruit, tapenade, violets and spice, yet the wine doesn’t feel overblown or heavy. Pairs particularly well with Moroccan tagine, grilled and smoked meats.
