Hans-Joseph(his friends call him “HaJo”) is a contrarian of singular mind. This rebel who swims in the Rhein river everyday and fashions a mustache of yesteryear. To quote our importer Vom Boden, “For all this depth and mysteriousness, Becker’s white wines are like Becker himself: angular, tensile with awkward elbows and muscle and sinew pulled tightly over a lean frame.”
Rödchen is a cooler site but this being an Auslese is the ripest of grapes in the vineyard with some botrysis sneaking in however still maintaining lightning like acidity.
His wines are such a journey, truly contemplative. Taste, ponder and repeat, this wine will hold even after open for months.
