The wine shop is located in the retail shops of Casa Mara—in the Antique Row district of West Palm Beach—nestled in the middle of the historic El Cid and Prospect Park neighborhoods.

The owner's selections, previously described by Food and Wine as “geeky but affordable wines” include a collection of over 600 wines from the Old and New World, with an emphasis on good farming and cellar practices.

The shop supports experimental avant-garde producers and the traditionalists from nearly every wine growing region in the world. Wines are made using time-honored, historically rich techniques, achieving an authentic expression of place, history, and culture.

All price points are represented from your everyday quaffable white wine to the grandest of grower Champagnes.

Michael Drapkin, the wine merchant, has been at it for nearly 20 years, with wine experience in Washington, DC (Whole Foods Market and McArthur Beverages), New York City (Vestry Wines, now Verve, and Balthazar) and the Hudson Valley, NY (as the founder of one of New York’s most recognizable indie wine shops, Kingston Wine Co.).

Together with his business partner and wife Theresa Drapkin, a professional designer and artist, the couple opened West Palm Wine Co. focusing on small batch wines hailing from organic and biodynamic vineyards and made with minimal additives.

Michael’s passion for wine is equaled by his desire to demystify wine. “It’s an ancient beverage. No degree is required to drink it and enjoy it.”

Damon Matz brings passion, knowledge and nearly 10 years of wine retail experience. A former master Welder/Fabricator, Damon followed his passion for all things fermented. He is well traveled, having tasted wines across Europe and America in hundreds of wineries. Damon is currently studying for a WSET 3 certification, he is an introductory Sommelier through the Court of Sommeliers, a Certified Beer Server with Cicerone and a Total Spirits and Wine Professional certified. Damon is excited to serve the community from the novice to the most discerning oenophile.
