Sun-drenched dark fruit, wild Mediterranean herbs, and a salty, briny finish that screams southern Sicily. This natural Italian red blends Nero d'Avola and Frappato from old vines at 450 meters elevation — naturally fermented, unfined, unfiltered, minimal sulfur. Pure and rustic in the best way.
Filippo Rizzo grew up in central Sicily, later moving to Belgium where he ran a restaurant in the early 2000s and became one of the first outside Paris to champion natural wines. That passion brought him back to Sicily, where he and his wife Nancy built Lamoresca from the ground up starting in 2004 — 25 hectares of organically farmed land nestled between Etna and the southern coast, the only winery for 50 square kilometers. His son Simon has since joined, and together they tend old vines alongside olive groves and native forests. Minimal intervention in the cellar, maximum biodiversity in the field — that's the Lamoresca way.
