A son of a bus driver becomes an influential winemaker in Burgundy championing organic/biodynamic viticulture, the underdog appellation of Marsannay, and even more fantastical, premium old vine Aligoté. We haven't met Sylvain yet but we have a serious crush on this guy's life story and passion for the vine.
This bottling is Sylvain's "entry" level Aligoté, but the vines are 50 years old! This wine is all about subtlety: no oak, gentle stone fruit, and dried herbs.
A silly, nutso value at $30!
For even more geekiness, listen to “I’ll Drink to That!" with Levi Dalton, Episode 489, where Sylvain is interviewed for over an hour!
