Roc Breïa is the Mâconnais project of Théo Dancer — son of the celebrated Vincent Dancer of the Côte de Beaune — who took over a conventionally farmed plot with no life in the soil and is patiently rebuilding it from the ground up, vintage by vintage, using the same meticulous farming philosophy he learned from his father, making just two wines from 10 hectares with total focus and zero compromise. Fun fact: the 2024 vintage was brutally difficult — relentless rain, aggressive mildew, extremely low yields — but Théo notes that mildew affects quantity, not quality, and the grapes that made it to harvest were in remarkable condition, giving the wine an intensity and concentration that a generous vintage simply couldn't deliver.
