Few names are more renown in the story of natural wine than Marcel Lapierre. He was at the forefront of the movement to farm better, and ferment natively, without additive chemicals. The domaine is now operated by his son, Mathieu, and maintains the same invigorating, natural philosophy.
The winery doesn’t add anything to their wines with the exception of a small amount of sulfites. All fruit is from certified organic vineyards of their decades old vines in the village of Morgon. A serious expression of both natural wine and Beaujolais as a place. Partial carbonic native fermentation, not filtered or fined, a raw expression of the granitic soils of Morgon.
