Jean-Pierre Robinot, natural wine icon in the Loire Valley. He’s been on the leading edge of the community since the 1980’s, first the wine bar “L’Ange Vin” which his estate is now named after he closed the shop to make wine full time in the early 2000’s. He started the magazine “Le Rouge et Blanc” with critic Michel Bettane which became a “Bible” for wine growers. Needless to say, the whisper of his name sends tremors through the natural wine community.
His wines are typically fermented for multiple years, reductive and slow to evolve. This sparkler made in the méthode ancestrale, gives you a hint at his voice without the price tag or the long wait. A hard to resist pairing with Torres Foie Gras chips!
