2022 Cirelli Pecorino Colline Pescaresi White Wine

Cirelli is passionate about revitalizing the nearly forgotten Pecorino grape. The grape Pecorino takes its name from the Italian word sheep, ‘Pecora’ who historically snacked on the grapes in the vineyard. Nowadays Pecorino is harder to find. Long ago farmers replanted with the higher-yielding Trebbiano. Pecorino is a sensitive grape that prefers cooler nights for slower ripening. 

In the hands of the patient Cirelli, Pecorino shows aromas of lemon blossom, soft peach and ripe pear. It’s textured and nuanced with a fine mineral edge. Fermented with wild yeasts in steel tanks without fining or filtering.
