Like so many others seeking something more from life, Pierre Fenals retired from his day job and moved to the country to pursue a life in wine. Although not certified, he is practicing biodynamic methods.
As for the name Belles Lies, it derives from a practice developed by 17th century monks who would dry their barrels and rub them with the lees from the vintage. Visually this is translated through the wine’s labels.
The wine is gorgeously fruited yet has a rustic complexity that reminds us that the wine is made in traditional old school methods. A magical pairing with a mushroom soup with fresh herbs and a dollop of crème fraîche.
