The Bea family has been in Montefalco, Umbria since 1500. Their wine making style goes back as far as their traditions, healthy farming and low-intervention cellar work has made him a pillar in the Italian natural wine community. Bucking the trend of the modern over oaked styles of the 1980's and 90's, Bea's wines show place and time in a bottle, expressive, meditative and complex.
This is iconically Italian, sour cherries and balsamic. 60% Sangiovese, 25% Montepulciano and 15% Sagrantino produced a medium plus bodied wine with complexity and texture that would be a wonderful pairing for pappardelle with lamb ragu.
