Evelyne de Pontbriand took over Domaine du Closel in 2001 (after a first career of teaching French literature) from her mother — the vigneronne before her mother was an aunt, and before her another woman, "so as you can see, there are a lot of women in Closel's history!" The estate dates back to 1495.
