2017 Chateau Pradeaux Bandol

$54.99

This vintage of Pradeux is ready to roll. Decant about two hours before serving and pair with a hearty, rustic dinner.

Château Pradeaux has been in the hands of the Portalis family since before the French Revolution. Jean-Marie-Etienne Portalis, who inherited the estate in 1752, helped draft the Napoleonic Code. The domaine is currently under the direction of Cyrille Portalis, the sole direct descendant.

95% Mourvèdre, 5% Grenache. Grapes are never de-stemmed, resulting in fortress-like tannins and skyscraper intensity in youth.

From the Appellation of Bandol, on the Mediterranean Ocean between Toulon and Marseilles. This brooding red has hints of black fruits and garrigue. Lamb is an iconic pairing for this wild creature.
